HAMMERHEAD created 150 shots in the BRIDGE RACE sequence. The shots were used to "place" the actors into the race.
Like previous work on THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS (2001), backgrounds of the streets were shot, then later, foreground elements of the actors in their cars were shot against greenscreen.
The backgrounds were tracked and composited with the actors.
A key innovation was the use of sub-frame camera shake to accurately mimic live action "streaking."
