For "The Fast and the Furious", HAMMERHEAD PRODUCTIONS
delivered 70 Visual effects shots. They were primarily in the "das boot"
sequence, which was the production's name for the drag race that occures
early in the film. The work consisted of tracking blue screen forground
plates, reconstructing backgrounds from a six camera "circle vision" element
and compositing with speed and vibration enhancements. Another sequence
at the end of the movie where Dom and Brian have a final race involved
the development of a dreamy "hyper real" time shifting effect. This project
was completed in collaboration with Illusion Arts in Van Nuys. |
